O Law Ventures Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through olawventures.co.uk.
Information we collect
We collect personal data when you interact with the site:
- Contact and enquiry forms: name, email address, phone number, and any details you provide about your property or enquiry.
- Shop purchases: name, billing and delivery details, email address, and order history. Card payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers.
- HHSRS report or service bookings: property address, tenancy details and any supporting information you submit for a hazard assessment or compliance service.
- Automatically collected data: IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited, gathered through cookies and analytics (see Cookies below).
We do not knowingly collect special category data (e.g. health data) unless you volunteer it as part of a housing disrepair or HHSRS enquiry, in which case it is used only for that purpose.

- Local authorities, tribunals or courts, where necessary to progress an HHSRS, RRO or compliance matter you have instructed us on.
- Professional advisers or regulators, where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Any third party processing data on our behalf is contractually required to keep it secure and to use it only for the agreed purpose.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected:
- Enquiry and contact form data: up to 12 months if no service is taken up.
- Client and case records (HHSRS reports, RRO or compliance matters): for the duration of the engagement plus 6 years afterwards, to meet legal and insurance requirements.
- Shop order records: 6 years, in line with UK tax and accounting obligations.
- Marketing consent records: until you withdraw consent or unsubscribe.
After these periods, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure of your data, in certain circumstances.
- Restrict or object to how we process your data.
- Data portability, receiving your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing relies on consent (e.g. marketing).
